Cooking with Tea: Creative Recipes to Try

Tea doesn't have to be just for sipping—it can be a versatile ingredient that can transform your favorite dishes into something truly special.

These buttery cookies take on a special twist when infused with one of our Earl Grey teas.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp ground Earl Grey tea leaves (i.e. Maple Cream Earl Grey #129, or Creme De La Earl Grey #09).

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Add vanilla extract and tea leaves.

  • Gradually mix in the flour until the dough comes together.

  • Roll the dough into a log, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.

  • Slice into rounds and bake for 10-12 minutes.

2. Matcha Green Tea Pancakes

  • 1 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, matcha powder, sugar, and baking powder.

  • In another bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla. Slowly mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour in ¼ cup of batter per pancake.

  • Cook until bubbles form, flip, and cook for another minute.

  • Top with honey or a sprinkle of powdered sugar and enjoy with Sweet Chamomile Mint for a refreshing pairing.

3. Chai-Spiced Rice Pudding

Give your traditional rice pudding a warm, spiced makeover with chai tea.
